Reiki Culture Class™️ is a class designed to increase the visibility of Reiki to a multiracial and multinational audience. In the USA, the images and language used to describe Reiki is mostly geared towards and attractive to one demographic. The result is that the people who know about Reiki and take Reiki training does not reflect the diversity of people in The USA. Reiki Culture Class is designed to begin the process of equipping Reiki practitioners with the skills necessary to communicate Reiki in a culturally sensitive and respectful way.
Information about how Reiki can help this amazing skill.
But when I tried to explain Reiki and its benefits to members of my own community using examples found in the mainstream, many of them looked at me like I was speaking an unknown language. Once I changed HOW I explained Reiki to include using culturally familiar examples, did they begin to respond positively.
At the same time, I have been asked by some Reiki practitioners why their efforts to reach out to Black and Brown communities have not been successful. The short answer is that many practitioners have not demonstrated how Reiki can help address the problems that are unique to communities of color. In addition, many advertisements and discussions do not reflect the benefits of Reiki to communities of color or men.The goal of this course is to help Reiki Practitioners to feel more equipped to confidently communicate Reiki and its benefits to communities different than their own.
